“I was a killer, was the best they’d ever seen. I’d steal your heart before you ever heard a thing. I’m an assassin and I had a job to do, little did I know that girl was an assassin too.”—John Mayer (Is the shit)
You can get a parking ticket and not give a fuck. I waved it around to my mom and we poked fun at each other. It may be silly to anyone that’s not me but I’ve had moments with my parents I’m not too fond of. And now, I’m on pace to finally be where I should be; working in my life-long career and be fully responsible for myself. It was a slow process and there were many bumps along the way, but at this moment I can say that life is good.
Since when?!?! Am I late on this? I am just about ready to head to Stop&Shop to see if they sell these in a bigger pack. Absolutely love coconut, and I love M&M’s. To combine them together is just insane and incomprehensible.
Truly heaven sent.
Found it in a vending machine over at Children’s Specialized Hospital down in Mountainside, NJ. Really great facility and the staff does a great job with the kids. But enough about THEM… Coconut M&M’s yo. So damn good.
Aced my maternal and newborn nursing test! Three points away from 100, a 97 if your a bit slow in math (make that really slow). So surprised at my grade, I’ve been doing mediocre the past exams and when it came to the final I killed it. Guess my day off really helped. Anyway, no breaks, onto pediatrics starting Monday. I hear it’s a bit tougher than maternal and newborn but I think I’ll manage.
Good day so far, party tonight to top it off. Thank GOD it’s Friday!
To have J. Cole rap and Keyshia Cole sing together over a sample of Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable”. Damnnn I could just imagine it, J’s smooth flow and Keyshia letting loose on the chorus. Drove home today listening to Keyshia Cole and the idea just hit me. I gotta make this happen somehow haha.
We finish taking a test, and afterwards everyone argues over what answers they put. It creates such a stressful environment forreal. Whats the point? Everyone gets anxious, people get pissed off at each other, whole class gets loud making everything worse, people complain and start sayin “oh I failed this test I know it”, and when they get their test results everyone passed. Unnecessary. You submitted your test, arguing isn’t gonna change the results. What’s done is done man, people gotta learn how to manage themselves.
Probably one of my favorite rotations so far. It’s been easy compared to previous classes giving me some time to relax, kinda. But yeah, I’ve gotten the chance to learn more about pregnancy and the birth process. It really is a beautiful thing. The 9 months of pain and stress are worth it for producing something so amazing, something that you will cherish for as long as you live, and something that will carry on your legacy for many years. Ladies cherish your gift, men cherish your ladies. We wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for them.
My favorite genre of music, the whole sound of it is like a high for me. I can play it anytime and anywhere, and really vibe to it. I think it’s a combination of the vocals, drum beats and other background instruments that really make the music, along with the soul and feeling that you can’t really get from other genre’s of music. So, without further ado, my top favorite 10 R&B artists. Enjoy.
Had a crush on her back when I saw “The Boy is Mine” video back in middle school. Still bump her self-titled album and Never Say Never. Classics!
9. Brian McKnight
One of the best vocalists ever. Dude did this whole song in falsetto, I mean c’mon.
8. Mary J. Blige
Probably one of the GOAT when it comes to music in general. Been doin her thing for a while now and she still at it.
Love her swag, sexiness, and style. The dream wifey right here, she was one hot mama. R.I.P
6. Mariah Carey
Girl could sing no doubt. Sad she can’t sing like she used to but all good things eventually come to an end.
5. Musiq Soulchild
Can’t go wrong with a name like Soulchild. Consistent on every album, with an exception to Onmyradio (IMO). Puts out some of the most chill music ever and he’s one of those artists where you can tell they’re real when you listen to their whole album.
First Usher video I’ve ever seen was “My Way”, back when I was in 4th or 5th grade, and I thought he was so dope. Still is and still makin dope music. Favorite album has to be Confessions, I probably know all the lyrics to that album cause I used to walk to school bumpin it on my CD player.
Can’t find music like this these days, the truth. Whenever you’re in a blehh sort of mood, play one of his upbeat tracks from Everything. I mean just look at the video, you can’t possibly feel sad watching it.
Huge crush on Amerie. Definitely wifey material right here, just check out those legs… haha. Love her voice, you can feel the emotion on every track she releases. Underrated artist for sure. Oh and shoutout to the Knicks @ 2:34!
1. Boyz II Men
Yes, Boyz II freakin Men. My favorite group/vocalists of all time. Dope dope dope. They were definitely the best of their time and no one came close. Together they had sick harmony and individually they all had extreme talent. I had the pleasure of seeing them live a couple years ago; so good listening to them on CD but amazing listening to them live. Something definitely lacking nowadays.
The gym is so packed now even at night. Anyways, trying get back into a consistent schedule as far as working out goes. It’s hard finding the motivation and energy to go, especially after all of it is drained during my 8.5 hours in school. Thankfully, maternal and newborn nursing isn’t so hard and I can kinda slack off. Also trying to eat healthy like a did a few years back, I was probably the fittest I’ve been in my entire life then, but we’ll see how long this lasts. Ending the day with a tall glass of fat-free milk. Mmmmm…
